A trade war starts when one nation attempts to protect its domestic industry and jobs from foreign competition. Hence, trade wars are a side effect of protectionism, which are government actions and policies that restrict international trade. The US has already slapped tariffs worth billions of Chinese products and is threatening more. While China, for its part, has also set tariffs billions worth of US goods and is threatening qualitative measures that would affect US businesses operating in China.
With neither Trump nor Chinese President Xi Jinping willing to back down, US-China trade war has put the world’s largest economies at each other’s throats. In fact, the USA-China Trade War is the War on 5G. This is the new Space race and ma
What is a Trade War?
According to Investopedia, “A trade war happens when one country retaliates against another by raising import tariffs or placing other restrictions on the opposing country’s imports.” A tariff is a tax or duty imposed on the goods imported into a nation. In a global economy, a trade war can become very damaging to the consumers and businesses of both nations, and the contagion can grow to affect many aspects of both economies.
What Is 5G?
According to Wikipedia, “5G is generally seen as the fifth generation cellular network technology that provides broadband access.” It is a Superfast “fifth generation” mobile internet connectivity promising download speeds 10 to 20 times faster than we have now. It’s offering a much wider coverage and more stable connections. It has been years in the making, but 5G is finally becoming a reality.
Why do We Need 5G?
The world is going mobile and we’re consuming more data every year, particularly as the popularity of video and music streaming increases. Existing spectrum bands are becoming congested, leading to breakdowns in service, particularly when lots of people in the same area are trying to access online mobile services at the same time. 5G is much better at handling thousands of devices simultaneously, from mobiles to equipment sensors, video cameras to smart street lights.
It’s always about the numbers. Figures don’t lie and that is not just what this fight is all about but numbers is mainly part of the reasons.
Whoever controls 5G, controls the world! The new space race won’t be won by America again from what I’ve seen so far. The fight is not just who floats 5G first–America or China. China built that 5G technology
The Immense Potential of 5G in Everyday Life
5G promises to transform our lives and make life better than what it is. Connecting millions of devices and enabling anything from driverless cars to smart homes (IOT). The speed on 5G is 20x faster than the current 4G. To download a 2-hour movie on 3G, will take 26-hours. On 4G will take 6 minutes but on 5G 3 seconds.
5G is a game-changer for everything. With 5G, doctors can perform surgeries anywhere in the world in lesser time. Your online videos will never buffer and calls won’t drop anymore. The excuse of “network is bad and your line is breaking up” will no longer hold water.
Even Artificial Intelligence is based on 5G, so whoever launches 5 G first will be the king of future Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology. America stated putting heavy taxes on China making 5G launch difficult for China. And now iPhone sales are dropping deeply in China making 5G launch difficult for America.
The tech is great and it is a Chinese company known as Huawei that developed the 5G network. In fact, according to Huawei
What is your take? Who will win this war? Do you think Washington’s escalating trade war with Beijing will “make America great again” or damaged the American economy”
