A story is told of how an elephant and a dog became pregnant at the same time.
Three months down the line the dog gave birth to six puppies.
Six months later the dog was pregnant again and gave birth to another dozen puppies.
The pattern continued.
On the eighteenth month, the dog approached the elephant questioning:
“Are you sure that you are pregnant?
We became pregnant on the same date, I have given birth three times to a dozen puppies and they are now grown to become big dogs, yet you are still pregnant.
What’s going on?
The elephant replied: “There is something I want you to understand. What I am carrying is not a puppy but an elephant. I only give birth to one in two years.
When my baby hits the ground, the earth feels it. When my baby crosses the road, human beings stop and watch in admiration.
What I carry draws attention. So what I’m carrying is mighty and great — and takes time to deliver!”
Moral of the Story!
There is time, season and place for everything. Don’t lose faith when you see others achieving their success.
Your time is coming!
Take employees and entrepreneurs for example: Sometimes, an employee can struggle for a really long time job hunting but once he/she gets the job, the rewards (salary) come almost immediately — after 7 days, 14days or 30 days depending on your employer.
A nice car might come after 6months and a nice apartment house might join the list after one year or so. Anice wife/husband, nice children, nice holidays, etc might follow as well.
But an entrepreneur and other creatives can toil for years with nothing to show for.
But once he/she breaks through, they can become the headline on newspapers and news channels, with people curious to know what’s the secret to their success.
Even old friends and exe’s that left might come back to reintroduce themselves.
Life is designed in a way that puppies can be born just after 3months but birthing an elephant takes time.
So, keep holding on to your dreams no matter how hard it gets.
Keep your efforts in the right direction. Be patient and persistent.
Say to yourself: “My time is coming, and when it hits the surface of the earth — when the pain (the struggles, the hurt, the disappoints) has served its purpose, then people shall watch me rise in amazement and admiration!”
